It’s a form of engagement hacking. It doesn’t really add anything. It allows bad people who have nothing to add accumulate large followings.

3. Retweeting authors who posted about their work - selling a book, or having an essay accepted. Didn’t matter what - just being a stranger cheering for them, and boosting them algorithmically.

As digital footprints go, I like mine. And I am truly going to miss Writer-Twitter.
