This article captures what it was really like growing up as a teenage girl in the early 2000s—the way women’s empowerment was set back by the widespread objectification of women and young girls, especially as the porn industry rapidly grew with the rise of the internet.
Porn has colored our ambitions, our sense of self, our relationships, our bodies, our work, and our art, @sophiegilbert.bsky.social writes. We are still processing what it’s doing to us:

It colored our ambitions, our sense of self, our relationships, our bodies, our work, and our art.

The unlawful detention of Mahmoud Khalil is one of the most extreme threats to free speech in 50 years.

Trump is sending a message that people who speak out will be punished — but we have a message for him, too.

We'll see you in court.

Government funding runs out on March 14. Republicans can’t pass a bill alone, so Democrats have real leverage here. We’re calling on Democrats to commit to withholding their votes and insist on an end to the Trump-Musk coup rampaging across the government.
