Trump is like a toddler: time he spends asleep is to be prized, not resented. Every minute he sleeps is a minute he is not tantruming or breaking things or smearing his own shit on things.

Before I left for college, my family received welfare checks (now AFDC). We relied on food stamps (SNAP) to supplement our meager allowance (remember it being $5k/year in the 80s). It’s painful to see SNAP targeted. Food aid is about human dignity as much as nutrition. Hungry people are desperate.

Went out for lunch with students in the beautiful Marina Del Rey. This guy is a regular - likely lives on a boat in the Marina. I would have like to talk to him to find out what made him out this text - front and back - but am worried I would start arguing instead.

I grew up in the Soviet Union where hiding my Jewish identity was a daily chore. I remember the relief when 2 years after coming to US feeling safe enough to admit I was Jewish. It is very sad to me that many of friends & colleagues have created a climate of fear for Jews.

They are terrified of the No Kings rallies and doing everything they can to discredit them.

If you're on the fence about going, just think of how much it'll piss off these assholes.

In their quest to rig the 2026 midterms in their favor to the maximum extent possible within the law, the Republican Party wants to gerrymander the hell out of a state they won in a presidential election by just 183,000+ votes & give it an 11-3 R congressional delegation. This is authoritarianism.
Republican lawmakers in North Carolina announced plans on Monday to redraw the state’s already gerrymandered congressional maps to further favor their party. The most likely target is the First Congressional District, which has the state’s only competitive House seat.
North Carolina Republicans Plan to Redraw Congressional Map to Add a Seat
The Trump administration has pushed Republican leaders to redraw House district maps before the midterm elections next year. His party already holds 10 of North Carolina’s 14 congressional seats.

Critical point 👇🏻. Measles will come roaring back in the coming months, with ever-larger outbreaks. Other vaccine-preventable disease will too. We are at the dawn of a massive public health crisis.

World leaders don’t realize what’s coming. Didn’t even mention it at #UNGA. We’re in so much trouble.
The measles website at CDC continues to share updated data. 1514 cases reported in 2025. 3 deaths. CDC scientists working hard but have to manage vaccine attacks from @SecKennedy and his minions. This will be the year that ends US’s measles elimination status. Not one word at #UNGA.
