I'm sorry, but "they took over the whole federal payments system, fired the career staff, and won't let anybody see what they're doing" is not a situation in which you wait for more information. It's a situation in which you assume the worst. There's no explanation for it other than rampant crimes.

One of my fourth graders asked a friend if he and his family wanted to live at his house since they are scared of the cold men coming to their house.

The cold men are ICE.

Kids may not understand it all right now, but they are listening.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

I know a lot of people are exhausted. And many have vowed to check out, tune out, etc.

But that's what they want--a public too exhausted to be outraged and utterly anesthetized to what is happening.

Even if you are taking a break from media, please watch this.

MF, you work for us.
KING: Even you said the images of J6 stirred up anger in you, 'the nation was embarrassed.' How do you reconcile those feelings with Trump's pardons?

MARCO RUBIO: I used to be a senator, and now I'm about to be sworn in as secretary of state. That's what I'm thinking. I work for Donald J Trump.

Remember: one of the origin stories of the "Fighting Irish" nickname comes from 1924, when Notre Dame students beat the shit out of a bunch of klansmen and ran them out of South Bend
