Animal welfare, family, a kinder world for all
My sister's dog Jack passed away today at approximately 16-17. He was adopted when he was about 10. He was so special to our family and was a great comfort to my Dad when he was in home hospice 3 years ago. He is very missed.

My sister and I went to a protest in a small, red town today. They were also doing a food drive for the local food pantry. Lots of honks of support. People from 5 to senior citizens. Protests held every other Saturday.

My sweet old boy Orville, a rescue from the streets, passed away today. I never knew a kinder, sweeter cat and he is so missed.

Last day of a nearby town's library book sale. I found some books that might need saving.

A small protest in a very red small town in Central Illinois. It was mostly middle aged and senior people. It was put together by a couple of veterans.

Thirteen years ago I went to the Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. May museums like this continue to be able to provide real history to us all

Derby was a dumped Easter bunny in Kentucky. Full of personality, she lived a long life with her cat and dog friends. I'm pretty sure she thought she was a cat!

My lovely Shania is long gone but never forgotten. She was abandoned with her sister who had parvovirus. Shania fortunately had only mild symptoms. She was so loved and it was an honor to be her family.

My sisters and I talked to an artist at work creating an NEA funded mural about the Springfield race riot. We also visited the graveside of the men lynched. The other lynching victim, William Donnegan, was an ancestor of Sonya Massey, who was killed by police last year after calling for help.

My father retired from the Department of Transportation and also served 16 years with the Army and Reserves. I support these federal employees in memory of my Dad who voted for Obama, Hillary Clinton and Biden and was disgusted by the January 6th attacks.
