Ah, okay. I thought it was just an auto-correct mistake, so I didn't really take notice of it. It happens to me a lot 😁

I understand that. They should give credit. Of course, we are paid, but credit is still a given to me.

Strange that WDYTYA doesn't do that, but don't you think they would, if you asked for it? I asked the Dutch version to include my name, and they agreed to that.

Thanks for sharing this! I have Finnish ancestors but did not know about this aspect of the civil war. My great-grandmother's brother Otto Anselm Söderlund died in the prison camp Käkisalmi in 1918. Another brother Rudolf Söderlund (voluntarily) immigrated to Canada.

The files are delivered digitally. You will receive an email as each one is processed. You either get a copy of the will and the letter granting probate or just a letter granting administration. (Probate packets are only kept for a decade before being destroyed so this is all that is still extant.)

Because their search interface is annoying, it's easier to find the entries first on other genealogy sites:

NOTE:
You must enter all given names and dates exactly as shown or the order will be rejected with no refund.

1995 and earlier: You need to search by year, but you'll have to look at PDF pages to get the probate calendar entry. A form is shown on the page to the right where you then transcribe the relevant details and click add to basket.

The search/order process is different based on what year you're dealing with.

1996 and later: There's a normal database even though you can only search it one year at a time. However, when you find your entry, it's easy to add to your basket.

The website to order is probatesearch.service.gov.uk. Make sure to create an account and log in before you start adding wills to your cart (or you might lose your order): probatesearch.service.gov.uk/create-an-ac...

What years are available? 1858 to present.

A very sad story 😞

I like your writing style, though!
