Oh, it'd probably mess up my back now, and it was a pain to get out of even when I was younger. But it absolutely sucked the heat out of you and I remember it fondly

When I was a growing up in the 90's I had an old school waterbed. It was supposed to have a heating element but I left it unplugged. It was cool to sleep on year round. (I know they completely fell out of fashion, but I loved that bed. Parents sold it when I went to college).

Traditional Bethesda bug: not an intended feature but it's quirky charm makes it impossible to mod out so you'll have to just play around any possible inconvenience. Maybe a second fan and treats to solve any remaining pathing issues or simply wait for the quest timer to reset.
