I don't *want* a "town square" or a "debating forum" or "to hear all voices". I just want somewhere where I can talk with my friends about Doctor Who or the Beach Boys or whatever, easily avoid horrible people I don't want to talk to, and know that my friends are safe.

The system loses less than a million a year in fare evasion, and the systems you'd need to stop that would cost $175 million to build and $16 million a year to maintain.
