I made a little miniature scene for the photoshoot of this prop, using fake branches/foliage that I got from the craft store. I also made the mistake of adding glitter to the scene, which has now spread to the rest of my house.

It's been a while since I made a brand new Labyrinth prop replica, but here it is: The first 13 hour clock that you see in the film. I made my version with laser cut/engraved wood, mother of pearl, vinyl, poster paper, and resin.

Yeah, that'd be incredible wouldn't it? You've reminded me how apparently Jareth's mask in Labyrinth was won by a fan in a raffle. I wonder if that fan still has it tucked away in a box in their basement somewhere?

It takes me so long to make prop replicas nowadays because I feel like I'm holding myself up to higher and higher standards of quality. Which always makes for a great end result, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss when I was managing to make a cool prop every month.

After much procrastination (And a bout of perfectionism) I finally finished my new Kermit replica puppet! I took him outside for some sunshine and ambiance, which I slightly regretted because I go outside so infrequently that I forgot mosquito's exist. But at least Kermit got to enjoy himself!

New Muppet Princess Bride drawing! This one was yet another natural fit, Beaker's head-tuck thing felt perfect for this moment where Fezzik "Jogs" the Albino's memory.

Without a doubt the highlight of this convention was getting to talk to Adam Savage and hear his compliments about my Piggy. All the doubts I had about my Piggy replica have been completely vapourized after hearing his kind words. Absolutely a core memory that I'll keep with me the rest of my life.

Gonna be debuting my Miss Piggy replica at the @calgaryexpo.bsky.social today! I'm a little nervous about the prospect of keeping my arm raised all day at the con, but what terrifies me is that I'm sure folks'll expect a Piggy impression and I DO NOT have one (I'm more of a Taminella gal).

Yup my assumption was that they matched the look of the big clock to a real brass one, you can find a lot of similar looking clocks on eBay so they are fairly common (Or at least, are fairly common in the UK where Labyrinth was primarily filmed).

I had way less self awareness as a teen so I fully admitted to Dave Mallow that I had what I called my "Angemon shrine" in my room (a display of pics, figures, etc.) and look how nice he was about it?? He could've just ignored my email but instead he crafted such a lovely response.

Although I will gratefully and humbly ( well, not THAT humbly. . . we actor types do have egos, y'know ) accept your generous compliments, it does surprise me that anyone would single out Angemon for praise. The poor guy went to work, suited up in those tight pants every day and all he got to do was say "Hand of Fate!!!" Perhaps he dropped out of school at an early age, stunting his development and leaving him with a very limited vocabulary. Actually, Gekkomon ( little green guy ) was a lot more fun to work on, but then I like the weird characters. Glad you enjoyed Pero's contribution to 'Metropolis.' That one was interesting to do. We recorded in a dubbing stage on the old MGM lot ( now Sony ), where they did 'The Wizard of Oz" and so many other great films. And when we started on 'Power Rangers' nobody had a clue it would be a world-wide phenomenon. For those of us who voiced the initial characters, it was just another gig. Then, it just took off. One of my favorite monsters to voice was Pudgy Pig from the first season. And I patterned Baboo on Bullwinkle. . which really was a rip off of a voice that the comedian ( probably waaaaay before your time ) Red Skelton. He used to do a bit about two seaguls, Gertrude and Heathcliff. Same kind of voice. It's pretty common to lift an idea for a voice, but when we do we call it a 'homage' rather than 'stealing.' I've never been invited to attend a convention. Might be fun. Might be weird. Who knows?! Thanks for your nice note. I'm glad you enjoy some of the things I've worked on. Regards, dm

My Piggy replica project has been keeping me pretty busy, so why not take a break from making Piggy to draw Piggy? I've been wanting to try drawing Piggy in the style of those iconic 80s Barbie illustrations, not quite sure I pulled off the style swap but the curls were sure fun to do regardless

My local Simpsons Trivia night was celebrating its 10th anniversary (And the retirement of one of its hosts) and so they asked me if I could help commemorate the special event with a drawing: A Simpsons style version of the Pub and some of the trivia regulars!

Open letter to the Jim Henson Company regarding a potential Labyrinth sequel: I would happily sell my right foot to help out with any promotion... fully ready to enter my Labyrinth influencer era and make a cool prop as part of a promo collab... Here's my resume (AKA, cool stuff I've already made)

I didn't complete many new prop replicas this year, but the ones I did manage to finish I'm really proud of. Definitely hoping to get back into the prop replica saddle in 2025 (Hopefully once my Miss Piggy replica is done!)

Glad to see another Sweetums as Fezzik fan! There's a few different ways you could cast Muppet Princess Bride but Sweetums/Fezzik is one casting that I will always fight for (I really need to get around to drawing a Muppet version of Fezzik and Westley's fight scene!)
