Even if we put aside the awful substance of Newsom's remarks, the setup—"he brought Charlie Kirk on his podcast to show how much he agreed with Kirk about _____"—is already damning by itself.
The fact that sentence ends with "trans rights" makes it worse, not better. But it's already disqualifying.
