Porque no los dos?
I think what we have here is a shuffle towards authoritarianism to enable kleptocracy. Anything that looks principled is for the purpose of influencing a sliver of base, & often coming from somewhere else. At least some of the spite actually comes from Trump. The “because I can” (WH E wing) - Trump.

The song ties with Live and Let Die for me.

If you look there’s a great Radiohead cover of Nobody Does It Better too.

Do you have a “too recent” cutoff year? B/c it’ll be a couple years before I could rewatch Napoleon

I remember coming out of that movie thinking the verse about Napoleon in Robyn Hitchcock’s song “Cynthia Mask” was more engaging than the entire 158 minute runtime

Huge Scott fan, but I have limits

That key frame is…not helpful. It’s a Klaus Nomi documentary

Whenever I see a car/truck like that, I assume it’s a cop driving
November 14, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Can we test that on cops first? Please?

They are working on that BHP thing. Slowly.

The world is minting new versions of this XKCD on a reg basis & the bad guys are developing a practice around exploiting them

Not that I worry about that. I reserve worrying for “paying the mortgage” & “igniting the atmosphere” type things

There is a difference, but not in the “does that make him a pedophile” sense

That’s making the donuts, not touching grass

Donnie, if you’re going to be completionist, be completionist and throw Jacqueline Bouvier on the list.

The finger was removed 95 years after his death, when his body was being transferred. Secular reliquary - really any reliquary - is beyond me, so I’ll just offer the Wikipedia link.

Sticks with logarithm graphs stuck on them?

That is awesome

Nice! As a treat, here is Galileo’s finger

One more detail that I find very funny: when I ordered this license plate frame from Amazon* 10 years ago, I did not have to special order it, it was apparently a STOCK ITEM.

* I no longer order from Amazon. Every day is “Nothing for Jeff Bezos Day” in my house now.

Do you actually get honks for squid?

I am not an anxious driver, but I always worried about honks that I heard - like a “who honked? What did I do wrong? Sorry!” sort of thing.

BUT NOW! With a “Honk if you love vampire squid” license frame, when I hear a honk I think, “another vampire squid lover”
