The Senate supports the GAP Fund, too, which would help fund building upgrades to support electrification, energy efficiency, and resiliency improvements, especially for people who can’t afford to upgrade on their own.

The Senate wants to see the NY HEAT Act enacted to reduce energy costs and encourage electrification. The HEAT Act has support not just among climate advocates, but across a broad political spectrum in the Legislature.

Clean water funding is a priority for both houses: the Assembly and Senate proposed $600M and $700M, respectively – and they agree that $100M of the total should go toward replacing dangerous lead pipes in our water system. That would be a public health win for people across the state.
