It's just enormously important to understand that the goal of this tariff policy isn't to raise money or to increase manufacturing in the United States. The goal is to make some of the nation's largest companies subject to Trump's personal discretion and dependent on his favor.

Trump using natural disasters as a political wedge in California and acting like business as usual with Kentucky is a perfect encapsulation of what is in store for the next 4 years. A windshield wiper movement depending on the personal opinions that have no basis in what’s good for the country.
