Yes. Yes, there are people like that. Not necessarily to the extreme you describe (I get it that this extreme is what you're speculating about). If you tend to the other direction, it's maddening to live with someone who has a boner for throwing stuff out.

I've been thinking about this issue a lot, recently. From an early age, I was taught to be a skeptical reader. I'm pretty good at it. Over a lifetime, I've built a huge toolkit for estimating credibility and spotting red flags and...LLMs totally screw that up.

The film is not "Border Patrol", it's "The Border". And the film "The Border", with Jack Nicholson, is not satire. The Paul Verhoeven film, "Starship Troopers" is a satire, Verhoeven has talked about it at length. Heinlein's book was dead serious.

This is evil. Probably no individual person had particular malice toward this man, but the government is acting institutionally with malice because our leaders are motivated by malice. And, subsequently, innocents are harmed and killed. That's evil.
