A great point, and I fear we know why: they don't anticipate there will be elections going forward—or if there are, their outcome will be structurally predetermined.
This administration doesn't appear to have any expectation that it will ever be hamstrung or out of power. Not in 2026, not in 2028.

Republicans aren't running for office...their polls are dropping...their own base is mocking them and yelling at them at town halls...
And yet they seem very comfortable and unbothered.
