I read, knit, crochet, make cloth dolls; sit on the front porch & watch the world go by; bake, cater to my spoiled cats, occasionally clean things.
Firm believer that living well is the best revenge.
All the cats were interested, too—what is that? Can we play with it? Why not?
Then she inadvertently bopped one of them on the head and they all decamped in a very hasty exit.

Got to spend the afternoon with Addie, my 5-week-old great granddaughter. (And did I remember to take any photos? Of course not . . . ) She has reddish hair and blue eyes, so far.

Read some in the newest book—Spring: A Spiritual Biography of the Season—knitted a bit, watched the cats laze around the yard, weeded a (very) little, but mostly watched the clouds and listened to the birds.

Yes, the world appears to be going to hell in the proverbial handbasket, but . . .

It was a nice afternoon in spite of everything (well, other than the damned cicadas; surely they will finished screeching at each other soon).

I can't be the only person who really doesn't give a damn what Elon Musk is doing/did yesterday/will do tomorrow . . .

Yeah, he's infuriating. What else is new?

Hurricane season starts Sunday!!

It seems like now would be a good time to remind everyone that the few people left at the NWS and NOAA are predicting an extra active season.

Even suggesting to stock up on shelf stable foods for 6 months, and TP.

Good luck and blessed be. Were fucked.

brb going back to 2020 to kick the tires of the morgue trucks that had bodies stacked up in the goddamn street
FOX: You guys are putting a stop to the boosters for everyone. Why is that?

MEHMET OZ: Well, we're asking folks go back and kick the tires on what's really in their best interest

It's a v. small irritation in the larger scheme of things . . . but is Trump really too dumb to learn about proper capitalization? Reading one of his posts is like fingernails on a blackboard. (I mean, aside from the actual content .)

Finished the first 13 of Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson novels; one left, but it doesn't come out until fall.
Vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves . . . light reading.
I enjoyed them immensely.

Of course, with my elderly memory, who knows how much I can actually learn . . . but I'm looking forward to dabbling, anyway.

My Latin textbooks have arrived! (My high school didn't offer Latin, only French and Spanish, and I've always regretted not having a chance to learn . . . well, some at least.
