Question for the #longcovid community here... I've never lost my sense of smell through probably 6 infections, but lately some perfectly good food has been smelling rotten to me (chicken wings, carmelized onions). Is this indicative of an asymptomatic infection or possibly viral persistence?

Is there a way to make this app's text a bit nicer looking? Threads has spoiled me with its clean layout.

This is exactly what happens with my kid. School isn't allowed to do anything to protect the kids (I offered to donate an air filter, and his teacher said they're not permitted). So he picks up one bug after another and brings them home to my wrecked immune system...
Tell me again about how nurseries and schools don't drive infections in local communities.

Some thoughts on dark nights in dark times. Back in... 2004 I think... I attended a Yule blót put on by some Minnesotan Heathens. One guy had property on the edge of state park land, and he'd built a fire pit and ritual space in the back yard abutting it. Past the firelight, it's just forest. /1

Is hypermobility like when you step wrong (in no particular way, just standing up from a chair for example) and then your knee won't work for two weeks?

I'm not getting my head around dictating fiction. Using an app called Letterly, btw, not Dragon. I like journaling with it, and reading handwritten text in is fine, but my brain just freezes with blank page syndrome when I try dictating from scratch. Any tips?

Is Trump appointing Fox News people because they'll be his wrecking balls, or because he's so senile the only people he can remember exist are the ones he sees daily on TV?

Of all the patients that tested positive for MCAS, 66% had digestive symptoms before any other MCAS symptoms.

Same for me
If you ever notice I’m following some stinky white supremacist pagan account, and somehow didn’t realize it, please let me know…I’m highly committed to divesting the community of that brand of crap, by not engaging or feeding it in any way.

Trying to rebuild my brain after long covid and get back to writing, and... uff. It's not so easy. Any tips?

Had to go to Frankfurt last week for my son's passport renewal. We took the slow way back along the Rhine and stopped at some castles along the way. These are the ruins of the Burg Rheinfels and they're gorgeous in the rain.

Hello Bluesky and thank you @adriancumming.bsky.social for the invite. Hopefully this site will be the one that conclusively replaces Twitter, but maybe with less doom scrolling. ;)
