I remember learning this in my early 20s. Professionalism is just another way for yt folks to “other” us. The clothes we wear aren’t even ours. That’s assimilation honestly. We wear what they tell us to wear as “professionals.” It can get deep cuz our hair isn’t professional deemed unprofessional
