👏👏👏 Applause for the two councilors brave enough to call for Hogsett’s resignation. I hope more come forward with backbone. Indy deserves leaders, not lapdogs scared of losing favors or political perks. www.indystar.com/story/news/p... @jesseforindy.bsky.social
'Hogsett must resign': Council Democrat calls on mayor to step down after investigation
Council Democrat Andy Nielsen said the mayor's decisions "knowingly put people in harm's way" and that he was "incredibly disappointed by this poor leadership."

Just saw this sticker on the entry door at Sherwin-Williams on Meridian. 86% of their donations went to republicans. Diversity washing is a thing.

Surprised car drivers weren’t complaining. On Pennsylvania St., bike lane is code for car parking.
An Indianapolis city employee made a conscious decision to plow snow into the bike lane and just leave it.

Could you imagine the repercussions if they did this to a car lane?

We also need more than two ToxDrop locations. People aren’t willing to drive 30 minutes out of their way so electronics and hazardous waste is being tossed into the regular trash.
Indianapolis remains the largest city in the country without universal curbside recycling, and it will continue to hold that distinction until at least 2028 — three years after Mayor Joe Hogsett’s administration initially said it would launch mirrorindy.org/curbside-rec...

Today, the gospel of Christ was spoken as John the Baptist spoke to Herod. Today, the Right Rev. Marian Edgar Budde looked into the face of a president and spoke to truth with the courage of a gladiator who defied an emperor. May we all find a portion of her courage.

This from the guy who allowed members of his team to sexually harass female subordinates. Did he think it was a sport?

Seems the task of the Vision Zero Task Force is to be a lightning rod taking the hits for Hogsett’s zero vision of how to make Indianapolis great for its residents. Also, for the majority of spineless city council members walking in lockstep with Hogsett.
A little birdie has told me there will not be a Vision Zero Task Force meeting in January. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for sometime in February. This comes after the VZTF cancelled their December meeting. The VZTF has only met once.

There’s still *no urgency* from the city whatsoever.

One week from today, January 20, Donald Trump will be inaugurated on Martin Luther King Day. Since Trump only serves himself I will not be watching any of the inauguration coverage. In honor of Martin Luther King, I will be serving in my community. #resist

Just saw this on Citizen, IMPD investigated a semi truck tractor after it turned from Pennsylvania St onto Market and was left parked across from the City County building. Someone should have told him to park in the bike lane on Pennsylvania so it wouldn’t be a problem.

Recently, stopped to take a picture of a car parked in the Pennsylvania St. bike lane. The driver asked why so I told her your parked in the bike lane. She told me I needed her permission to take a picture of her car. Seriously, she was illegally parked in a public space and I needed permission.
Had an interaction a few nights ago with a driver parked in the bike lane, forcing me into the car lane. He rationalized that it was somehow my fault for cycling at night, as if drivers get to dictate when and where people should ride bikes.

Step 2. sign this (cis women only please! cis guys, you can help by boosting)

Step 3. much depends on the success and reach of step 2; lots of options if this blows up

The Indiana legislature doesn’t have time to make its members behave because they are too busy bullying trans kids and making medical decisions for women.
Today, the front page of the Indy Star details how two high ranking Senate Democrats have been involved in serious sexual improprieties.

Party leadership knew about it, and party leadership did nothing.

There is no moral justification for today’s extraordinary concentration of wealth.

It is distorting our politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of people.

Wealth can’t be separated from power.

Power begets wealth and wealth begets power.
