This book mysteriously appeared at the nurse stations in the ED and some RNs asked me what it was about. Seeing the cover and reading the title I assumed aves, which means birds, was a metaphor so I flipped it over and read the synopsis while simultaneously translating to English. I was not ready.
Each time I say this game cannot get any more ridonkulous it somehow manages to get even more ridonkulous. It’s so so very stupid. I can’t stop watching.

Look, there are PLENTY of reasons to hate on Melania Trump. But what we’re NOT going to do, especially in this climate, is making fun of someone for speaking with an accent or insinuate that they don’t belong in America because they do.

Today during a CE class they showed a low res video of a kid in a New York top having a seizure while the tv talked about George Pataki in the background and I laughed and said "George Pataki? How old is this video?" And apparently not many people are cool like me and remember who George Pataki is.

I love it when kids come out of a ketamine sedation and just profusely express how much they love their parents or caregivers. It’s so cute and happens all of the time. When « too cool for school » teenagers do it? *Chef’s kiss*

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

I absolutely love Trek and sci-fi. And I inherited my love of Star Trek from my 100% smoke show of an aunt who’s biggest dream as a little girl was to marry Captain Kirk, traverse galaxies and have a butler who would bring them butter on a silver dish. This man is an idiot.

There’s an RN and a CNA I work with who have been absent. Ends up they suddenly had issues with immigration status and were unable to work. Both had been LEGALLY working, paying taxes, taking care of sick kids. Thankfully they’re coming back and their jobs are waiting for them but this is BS.

Aritzia had a « meme sized » super puff at the store so obviously I tried it on.
TBH the marketing person behind this may be brilliant because I thought these coats were incredibly overrated but after trying this one on "for the gram" I’m slightly obsessed and will prob end up with at least 3.

Made a little award for a friend in the ED by themself who was scared about doing a blood draw but freaking crushed it with some explanations and encouragement (and roaring because they’re a Leo and Leo’s are strong). It’s fun when we get a little extra time to do something extra.

For ED nurses week management decided to to make GIANT thank you posters with our full names(!) and photos and post them in the department. Luckily any concern I had about my full name being visible to all was assuaged by the fact that they combined my first name with another RN’s last name and pic.

Work texts for tomorrow AM coverage went out rather early tonight because I’m pretty sure all the day shifters who were at the game or watching on TV realized around the 11th inning that there was no way they were going to be up and functioning by 7am.
