Looking for #photobook #meetups in the greater #Seattle area. Or, related, such as print exchanges, or just #photograhy people who want to chat about current projects over a pint. Bonus points for documentary, narrative, related work

No surprises in today's performance from the weak and childish Dump and CarpetBaggerVance. This is the Punch Down Administration, whether it be marginalized minorities, Federal employees, or foreign leaders fighting for life and death.

To Photograph is to Learn How to Die, by Tim Carpenter, might be the most magical #photography book I’ve ever read, and it doesn’t contain a single photo. Huge thanks to @flakphoto.news for bringing it to my attention. Spreads like this one cook my noodle for days

This is a great first person witness series remembering the day. “A day of love” my hairy ass. Traitors every one.
(1/8) Four years ago, on Jan 6 at 5:04pm, I took this photo of law enforcement using flash bang grenades & tear gas on a violent mob trying to break into the U.S. Capitol. It was hr 4 in my gas mask, helmet & bulletproof vest photographing hand-to-hand combat between police and civilians.

I wanted to tell you. I knew the words to say. But my timing was off, and I didn't know how to come back to it. My own awkwardness was the barrier, I put it there. I wish I'd recognized in the moment how you'd forgive my stumbling, it'd have given me courage.

I loved this portion of the interview with Emmet Gowin in Aperture No. 256. Such a lovely description of intimacy in photography

The family farmhouse. Never stepped foot in it once to be honest. By the time I knew what it was, it was some other family's. But we'd speed past it regularly, headed to town.

"What was it like?", I'd ask
"Hard". Didn't matter who I asked, that was always the answer.
