Leftist (both cultural and economic). Born in Texas and still stuck here. I work in a bookstore and can't believe this is reality. It just gets worse.

Yep, one of the biggest drivers of the elite panic around “wokeness” was the increasing prominence of Black people and particularly Black women in their fields and we’re seeing that coalition rewarded with the targeting of Black workers.
Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

They don't get talked about much anymore but Roald Dahl hosted two different horror anthologies & they had wildly different tenures.

Way Out (1961) lasted only 14 episodes and 4 of them are lost media. It only survives through bootlegs.

Tales Of The Unexpected (1979-1988) somehow had 112 episodes.

everything is just a money-extraction scheme

my kids and i used to play four players on our own minecraft server until a microsoft update required four software licenses

meanwhile on xbox, we played four players off a disc until they required a monthly subscription to play more than two players 🤬

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

After today I'll have all of Soap and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman cued up. Both shows my parents made me stop watching as I got aged into their humor, or maybe Mary Hartman was just on too late.

I think if I were in a position to pitch TV shows I would just pitch a new version of The Tick every couple of years. It is always uniquely positioned to comment on media, fantasy, and society.

If Democrats are "antifa", if they're "fighting fascism", then why did 86 of them just vote with their Republican friends to "condemn socialism"?

Democrats are not fighting shit, they're actively aiding the rise of fascism in this country.

I think the "Work full time and take classes at night" thing don't really work anymore. One shouldn't because you're going to burn out.
But there is no hope for the future, so any big ambitions like that is not as driving as it used to be. And a full time job doesn't always cut it either.

ICE enforcement is a mass disabling event

If you have a medical emergency in ICE custody, there’s a chance you will simply “disappear”

Or you could end up like Randall Alberto Gamboa Esquivel who was deported to Costa Rica in a persistent vegetative state.

He died soon after.

There were two US citizens in the car. They were apprehended and detained for “obstructing” ICE by honking their horn to let people know ICE was in the neighborhood.
