Keep in mind that many of those who DO keep their coverage initially will only be able to do so for a few months before having to drop it due to the increased premiums…but the losses being spread out over several months will dilute the media narrative.

To further cover their tracks and assuage their conscience they apply for and are awarded institutional awards in mentorship (and even an NIH grant to study mentorship!) in calculated attempts to convince themselves and their colleagues that they aren’t the problem.

Letting a computer make decisions is letting whoever controls the computer decide the range of acceptable choices. There is no way that the owners of the AI systems will allow them to make decisions which are optimal for the user but against the interests of the owner...

The strategy:

1. Appeal to economic anxiety created by AI hype.

2. Target prospective students in geographic regions far removed from established tech centers.

3. Rent brand equity of public universities associated with regional pride, while simultaneously sowing doubt in the their legitimacy.
