So, it's finished! 2/2 twill, 5 sections of Fibonacci stripes in warp (1,1,2,3,5), 8/2 unmercerized cotton doubled in warp, 8/4 single thread in weft, rigid heddle loom, two 12.5 dpi heddles plus pickup stick and heddle rod. Machine washed 60 degrees celsius. Hemmed by hand.

I’m still a sucker for great surface design, and admire those who excel at it.

Ah, I have that book, must have a look! My first weave was a scarf with a sticky alpaca yarn. Was a nightmare to weave. Thank you so much for the advice about the folded edge, must study that in particular 🙌 I'll weave a small practice piece, as it will be my first time with double width weaving.

It is cool! For me, making work systems for expert users, a nice feature of the components are that most of them have compact variants. Our users want information density, and hate scrolling. Compact variants allow us to accommodate that, without compromising key accessibility requirements.

I made 14 little paper notes with the sequence, put them in a stack and turned one note over when I put the shuttle through. Think I avoided many mistakes, but had to redo a few times even so. Challenging! I got this idea from a post in a weaving group.

Beautiful! Hard weave for me, the black yarn turned out to be a bit rotten, and earp threads kept breaking. The same type of yarn as the rest of the colours, but I didn't warp test all the colours, so that's a really good learning point. The back of the loom looked like wind chimes after a while.

Here's the finished item. I used two heddles the same DPI, a heddlerod with string heddles and a pickup stick. The weaving sequence has only 4 steps and was much easier than I expected. I followed Kelly Casanova's lesson: kelly-casanova-weaving-lessons.teachable.com/p/herringbon...
