Whenever I try to look up some information about this, there are a bunch of comments saying that "you are abusing generics" and "you should write code instead of types". Or my favorite "the Go language committee decided that this is stupid". JUST LET ME WRITE THE THING

Don't you suggest that "oh just use interfaces". I've tried that. It won't help. It just creates a new problem while not really solving the original. But the most annoying thing is that there are "type constraints" which *could* work... if they were proper sum types
