The advantage of having a Croatian husband, is that you can find beautiful spots to spend some time away from everything 😏

Almost 80 but what an energy - Neil Young! I am so grateful to have seen him play with the Chrome Hearts yesterday 🤩 Rock 'n' roll will never die...

I recently rediscovered Terry Pratchett. The little nuggets of wisdom sprinkled throughout his works are amazing. I do appreciate them much more these days then when first reading Pratchett 20 years ago...

Tomorrow, we celebrate 80 years of freedom in the Netherlands. Today, we remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. We will be forever grateful to the allied forces.

This photo I took at the American cemetery in Margraten.

The US were, and always will be, one of our best friends.

You spotted it out before I did - having an internetless break in Bretagne...

Was a pleasure to write - am really curious what the future will bring, where we're going to find signaling functions for MARubylation!

Our son & friends were invited to play for a full theater including the Queen 🤩 When asked in the afternoon how his day was he said "great, because they gave us ice cream" 😂

Mosbach by night... It's a pain to get to, but definitely has its charm!

Does this mean that the tree blocking the track is being removed by people who do not have official permission to do so? 😂

On the way to Mosbach for the @gbmev.bsky.social GBM yearly meeting. Comfy train, nice weather. Looking forward to exciting science as well as meeting old & new friends!

All is well except - we left at 7.39 and an hour later the train is still stuck just outside Aachen 😬

The little things which bring happiness 🤩

My daughter and me planted 100 bulbs last autumn to help the early bees. It was a mix of different bulbs, so we actually didn't know which flower will show up where.

This crocus is the first one to bloom 😁

Something to lighten your feeds.

It's time for carnaval here, but due to high teaching load and some deadlines I was utterly unprepared and had no costume.

The kids helped out by doing at least my hair and makeup. They were actually proud of this 😂

I'm enjoying a bit of normalcy in these crazy times. Whole week of old school practical teaching together with the social media-less Dr Zaja...

I proudly present my latest achievement: disassembling a broken joy con, exchanging the broken part and putting it back together... Fully against my expectations but: it works again!!

I do check papers with titles corresponding to the scheme below on pubpeer first, and then check image quality before reading. Papermills did produce a lot of those "papers"...
