Married, L(G)BTQ, retired, loving living on Madeira Island (look it up), I always enjoy a clever turn of phrase, poetry, and watching movies I've already seen. My posts will be mostly photographic and entirely AI-free.
Brilliant is the right word, as is insightful. I rank this as one of the very few "must-view" videos I have seen.
This is actually quite brilliant, up to and including the final sentence 🔥

If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

Yesterday we had the pleasure of being interviewed by Mark Goldstein for his Podcast/YouTube channel, "Where Do Gays Retire?" I'll link the episode when it goes live.

Indeed - what a great idea! In fact, why not name the new network DEI, just to reclaim the abbreviation for what it really stands for - diversity, equity, and beautiful inclusion!
Put all the “DEI” folks who got let go onto a new network and I’d watch the shit out of it.

This isn't new in the US, but that it continues and grows as a daily experience of so many of our residents is like the bumper sticker on the car - it tells you all you need to know about life in the USA. 😢
In my world, “the talk” is what Black parents have w/our kids, about how to survive an encounter w/police who see them as a threat because of our skin color.

Latino families have their talk, w/kids even younger, about ICE who see them as criminals: “If we disappear…”

Different fear. Same America.

What I most appreciate in news stories from news sources and individuals: When the who, what, how, why, and where are captured in the first paragraph of the story and inferred in the article title. Then I can read on for more details. Journalism like it should be done.

A brilliant summation of where we are at present.
I think the story of media, particularly online media, in the last couple decades is basically “market becomes more efficient, society realizes inefficiency was load bearing ”
