Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America” is yet another symbolic gesture meant to provoke. As Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum aptly said, “For the entire world, it remains the Gulf of Mexico.” Nationalistic posturing won’t change geography or global consensus.
