What happened to "do no harm"? Several hospitals across the US stopped providing necessary care to consenting transgender patients. Still, they’ve spent decades refusing to stop “normalizing” intersex infants’ bodies without their consent. @transequality.bsky.social www.advocate.com/voices/donal...
First, do no harm—unless you're intersex or trans
Opinion: Hospitals are abandoning transgender and intersex patients, denying them essential care and autonomy. It's time for hospitals to uphold their ethical duty and provide life-saving gender-affir...

Scanlon: The Gulf of Mexico was so named over 500 years ago. If we want to update that name to reflect our current culture, maybe we should call it the Sea of Emoluments—you know, the place where we can board the Ship of Fools and navigate from a State of Ignorance to the Confederacy of Dunces…

Imagine committing your entire life to determining what causes autism. After years of obtaining and going through reams of data, RFK simply showed up and promised to provide answers within three months.
The issue is that they would find the solution they desire, which would result in fatalities.

I'm starting to think that this Donald Trump fella might not have what it takes to be President.

Well, now the real reason for his re-election come to light:
the president is immune from insider trading for his pals.

I have retired the phrase “Sure as Hell” from my vocabulary.
It has new meaning since my Christian deconstruction.
I think I’ll replace it with “Sure as MAGA.”
No ambiguity there.

Trump/MAGA brought out the F*ck in me.
10 years ago, you would have never heard me use that word.
Now, it comes out as I read the cereal box at breakfast….

Capitalism does NOT reward hard work.
It rewards privilege and exploitation.
Hence, the expression “to capitalize on.”

They were saying:
“I have the cards.”
“Wear a suit,” and
“Say thank you”—
but all I heard was:
“KISS THE RING….”

The artists heart is the closest a human can come to divinity.
It is to what religion aspires, but was kneecapped by the church.

If our Checks and Balances cannot survive being turned off— they really weren’t Checks and Balances, were they.

I just find the irony in Americans who want a hand in deciding the general good by legislating abortions, women’s autonomy, who can call themselves a man or a woman, who can marry, or who can become a citizen – but then they don’t want somebody else telling them they have to vaccinate their kids.

I loved this conversation with progressive @jeetheer.bsky.social. It’s not about moving left or center. We’re living in an “anti-system” moment. And Democrats haven’t understood it. They better understand it if they want to win. Have a listen.👇 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Congratulations MAGA, you have fixed our immigration problem.
You have turned the USA into a place nobody wants to go.

My purpose in life? To make a difference. How sad if the only difference I made was a few more dollars in some rich guy’s pocket.

Calling out someone practicing civil disobedience as unAmerican and telling them to “love it or leave it” is like telling a rape victim to just shut up so it gets over faster.

Living a life of non-violence, kindness, helpfulness, forgiveness, inclusion, reconciliation, etc. isn’t easy. That’s why all mankind’s religions chose to include commands to live that way in their scriptures. That’s also why most people who claim to adhere to those scriptures fail to abide by them.

At Cabaret yesterday, Cliff said his line “…if you’re not against all this then you’re for it. Or you might as well be”. The audience interrupted the scene to applaud that line so strongly it stopped the show. Doing a show about the onset of fascism right now is. . . chilling.

I used to think they were all good people just got tricked somehow into believing his lies. But that’s not it at all. They know he is lying.
They just like that he hates all the people they hate.
But he hates THEM, too.
Well, I guess that still tracks.

Whether you believe in God or not, the thought that anything created is something that should NOT have been created— makes no sense.

Perhaps we are looking at this all wrong.
We shouldn’t be trying to convince people that there have ALWAYS been Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, etc. people—
We should be talking about how there have always been people who just go out of their way to make life harder for others.
