I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

No matter what happens next, the bigger picture damage is done.

Breaching agreements with irrational tariffs. Antagonizing NATO allies. The US is no longer seen as a good faith actor.

It will take decades of consistency to rebuild the trust Trump broke in less than 3 months.

It's simple. Everyone in the US enjoys the protections of the Constitution - even visitors. So if someone commits a crime here, you give them due process here. You charge them here, try them here, and sentence them here. You don't deport them to an offshore torture prison.

I could write up why there’s no constitutional problem with the President using an auto-pen to sign official documents—or I could just post the 30-page 2005 opinion by George W. Bush’s Office of Legal Counsel that explains why in lots of detail.

I choose the latter:

Hegseth has ordered the Pentagon to STOP offensive cyber operations against Russia. This is insane. Russia is actively targeting the U.S., and the ability to conduct offensive operations (which was authorized by Trump in 2018!*) was at least one deterrent. Hegseth Orders Pentagon to Stop Offensive Cyberoperations Against Russia
The defense secretary’s instructions, which were given before President Trump’s blowup with the Ukrainian president, are apparently part of an effort to draw Russia into talks on the war.

My oath is to the Constitution of our state and of our country.

We don’t have kings in America – and I don’t intend to bend the knee to one.

I am not speaking up in service to my ambitions — but in deference to my obligations.

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

There are some elements of this administration from which the country will never recover.

Here’s the money line in the acting AG’s letter firing the prosecutors who worked on the Trump case. Leadership does not trust you in “implementing the president’s agenda.” DOJ supports and defends the Constitution, not the president’s agenda.

In 1962 author Roald Dahl's oldest child Olivia was infected with measles.

Days later she died from encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain.

This was one year before the first measles vaccine.

In 1986 he wrote a heartfelt letter to parents about the importance of vaccines.

Key part of this is your treatment in a study isn’t paid by insurance, it’s paid by the study — when the NIH goes away, your infusions go away too.

Your insurance doesn’t pick up the slack because it’s not an approved treatment it’s experimental
So many cancer patients are enrolled in NIH studies.

Are they even getting treated this week
