During the approval process for the Intracept procedure, Blue Cross Blue Shield HAD MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WRITE LETTERS stating how my quality of life has been impacted by chronic pain. Then they denied it anyway.
But hey, keeping me bed bound and on heavy medications is so much better, right?!

Third party companies that handle authorizations on behalf of insurance companies, imaging centers and pharmacies are one of the biggest scams in healthcare right now.
Hiring a company to do your dirty work w/denials and authorizations is such garbage.
