Then, last night at a time no news outlet seems to know, a driver struck and killed a pedestrian on Route 1 in Branford. This happened in an area with retail, restaurants, other businesses, and homes. The victim's identity is withheld while family notification awaits.

There are no sidewalks or painted crosswalks even though there are bus stops along part of Woodland Ave and people would be seeking to safely reach their jobs at nearby businesses: Foodshare, Homegoods Distribution Center, Access, etc., or at the 6-12 grade Academy of International Studies.

This happened on Woodland Avenue at the intersection with West Newberry Road in the part of Bloomfield that is a bizarre mix of rural, residential, and industrial.

Last night a driver sent a pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition at the intersection of Route 72 and Route 72 in Bristol.

The map shows pedestrian fatalities there and in the area since 2015.

Now, they get to cross Route 189, speed limit 35 MPH (and that's treated as a minimum)

This was the old stop on campus, where passengers were essentially crossing a driveway to get to a covered bus shelter.

If traveling west on West Main Street, the SUV driver would have seen these signs on either side of the intersection where they struck & killed Raul Natal, Jr.

Going east, they would have seen the crosswalk sign.

Safe Streets Connecticut: October 2025

If we have all the physical tools we need to correct the errors of previous generations, why are Connecticut's roads still so deadly for pedestrians?

Election cake, Nosferatu & Radiohead, Havdalah & Hayrides, Hope Out Loud . . . just a few of the items on the event and civic action calendar for what’s happening (mostly) in Hartford and (sometimes) elsewhere in Connecticut or virtually, for November 2025.

What the Farmington Ave construction does to a bus route. The exes show bus stops not being made. People not using app may have no idea about detour and be standing there, waiting for buses that never come.

In recent months, Tr*mp has deployed, planned to deploy, or threatened to deploy military forces to NINE American cities.

Imagine being inches from the apples but thinking you had a clear view of the city.
