Nearly a billion commits later, the way we ship code has changed for good. 🚀 But it's more than just speed.

Here's what the 2025 Octoverse data reveals about how devs really work now. @cassidoo.co explains.👇

saat 5:15te uyanmak nedir. lanet olası Kreuzberg aile kavgaları, kim bilir gene ne olay çıktı. silah sesleri, bağrışmalar ve polis anca yarım saate gelebildi.

For any who need to hear this:

Most people, throughout history, have not had to cook every day. It's not weird to not always have the energy to do that. And when you have some but not tons of energy, a lot of packaged or frozen foods have gotten good in the past 20 years.

Went to the offices of a “cracked” AI company that is killing it: massive AI companies and Big Tech are customers. Building innovative infra. Have a bold vision.

They work really hard. Yet Friday 5:30pm the office was empty - everyone went home to family.

Macron remarks are notable- some quotes: "We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks that are controlled either by large American entrepreneurs or large Chinese companies, whose interests are not at all the survival or proper functioning of our democracies."
President Macron: “Europeans, let's wake up!

We have been incredibly naive in entrusting our democratic space to social networks.”

I'm building an alternative streaming option for artists called tracklist:// where they will be able to self-host their music catalog and stream it directly to fans.

As musicians ourselves, our goal is to empower artists with connection.

many people start doing something different than others, then try to find people online who spread what they do is the right thing without questioning the real science/affects behind it.

simple example:
- no coffee is healthy
- 5 cups of coffee is healthy

the sunk-in-cost makes you stuck in spots

yes it’s a big mystery why people who think empathy is evil don’t become therapists
The idea that conservative ideology should be equally represented in everything is ironically a very liberal idea

AI agents would help for basic tasks. If you work on a complex problem/codebase, good luck! I see more and more engineers losing time by trying to make AI help out while the real issue could be solved with an half-hour research/try-and-error.

I built a baby activity tracker pwa app with vibe coding, lots of manual fixing (wasn't deployable) 😅

later, I saw my old Raspberry Pi Zero W looking lonely, so I built a little device to track baby activities without using a phone. got super handy for night feedings and wake-ups.

finally deleted my twitter/x.

in 2013, during the Gezi Park protests in Turkey, twitter was vital — the place for real news, coordinating against police oppression, and solidarity.

but yet now X censored Ekrem İmamoğlu, the opposition’s greatest hope. what once empowered resistance now silences it

Amusing how X is dying a long and prolonged death 2.5 years after letting go 80%+ of the team and parts of the site die without devs even noticing

And how Bluesky keeps working… with a tiny but focused eng team.

Bullish on Bluesky, bearish on X (where my DMs no longer work ha)
