If the last three days demonstrate one thing, it's that the right (via the media) controls the narrative in this country.

Or, as Matt Golding puts it:

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

Coverage of the Harbour Bridge protest varied wildly depending on the editorial bent of the outlet and the increasingly polarised audiences they serve. Crikey rounded up who reported what.
A study in contrasts: Comparing how media outlets covered the Harbour Bridge protest
One of Australia's most iconic landmarks was host to more than 100,000 protesters marching in torrential rain in support of the Palestinian cause. Here's how media outlets covered the demonstration.

Unreal: To sustain his lie about a "genocide" of "white farmers" while meeting with the South African president, Trump used a photo of war deaths in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

I looked into this a bit more. It's worse than it first appeared. 1/

Trump’s Lie about Dead “White Farmers” Just Got Even More Grotesque
That photo he brandished to Cyril Ramaphosa was from the Democratic Republic of Congo—whose refugees the Trump administration is pointedly not welcoming to America.

Every book published in the United States is sent to the Library of Congress. Also, if you are under 16 you cannot use the reading room or order books.
Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

Good bit of reporting, this. Advance portrays itself as a grassroots outfit, but it’s actually a front for some singularly unpleasant oligarchs and their nasty mates.

The Advance propaganda machine is aimed at ordinary Australians but backed by some of our wealthiest – and has links to a right-wing US foundation.

It's a straightforward relationship: high #inequality leads to the triumph of the far right. It will keep winning until governments deliberately seek to make societies more equal. I'm looking at you, Keir Starmer.

One of the most powerful forces in politics is the urge to destroy that from which you are excluded. This is why, in the highly unequal US, support for Trump holds up even as he trashes everything that makes a good society. Equality is key to preventing fascism.

Peter Dutton says he'll fly immediately to Washington if he becomes PM. But it's undignified and dumb to rush to be a supplicant, kowtowing to Trump on day one. Better to be reserved and ready to deal the strategic cards we do have at hand to resist trade coercion. #auspol

A tax system that incentivises people buying big utes for "work" is terrible for the environment.

Emissions from passenger cars have fallen since 2005.

But that has been more than cancelled out by the increase in emissions from utes and other light commercial vehicles.
