Was die NZZ nicht in Betracht zieht: durch neue Daten und bessere empirische Methoden können wir heute viele Fragen wissenschaftlich verlässlicher beantworten als früher. Das ist nicht ideologisch links. Ideologisch wäre, wenn man seine Meinungen angesichts neuer Informationen nicht updaten würde.

Gesellschaftlich und medial gibt es die Tendenz, von "Es ist nicht so schlimm" sofort zu "Alles ist verloren" zu springen. Man überspringt, vielleicht mit Absicht, das Stadium von "Es ist ernst, aber wir können jetzt etwas konkretes tun."
