"Take no revenge and cherish no grudge against your fellow countrymen. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord" (Lev 19). Monday's First Reading.
Dave Brat, a Senior VP at Liberty University, said today on a local news interview that the tariffs are following “reciprocity,” which he said is the Golden Rule: “whatever you do to us, we’re gonna do to you.”

There’s quite a crew of faithful Episcopalians on here from all over the Episcopal Church - if you’re trying to find someplace to try it out this Sunday, feel free to reply here with your city or town and we’ll see if people know specific parishes in your area they can recommend! It’s frightening to shift views on divine judgment, if escaping eternal punishment is the only reason you’ve ever done/not done anything.

⚓ I ended our Plumb Line series that I have been facilitating for Trinity Cathedral today with this beautiful blessing. May we hold this close as we navigate tumultuous waters ahead. May we return to our Christian "plumb line" when we are most challenged or in need of that grounding.

Truth.
read through the Book of Jonah tonight with my college bible study group and WHEW that book has a word for us.

God loves the people we can’t bear to love!

God’s love is deeper, vaster, more scandalous than we can handle!

and thank God for that!

It is quite the fragile god who needs political power to preserve and enforce their will.

It is quite the powerful God who is born in poverty, partners with the poor, washes feet, heals the sick, advocates for the oppressed, is unjustly killed and still changes the entire world.

I'm setting up for tonight's Trans Day of Remembrance service Livestream. This service is always incredibly emotional but it feels especially difficult this year. My heart is always with the most vulnerable members of our community and never more so than now. 🙏🌈

We are so often called to hold space for tension in paradoxical ways. I first came upon this quote when we lost my mom to cancer and my younger brother to a fluke accident in 2017/18. I do my best now to look for God's presence in unexpected places and people. My great challenge.

Thinking of my brothers and sisters in recovery, especially in these traumatic times. I'll have 26 years in January (God-willing). Sharing our stories of resilience, transformation, & God's grace working through us is especially important.

Meetings, connection, community are our lifeline, esp now.
