About 2 years ago I said something along the lines of "we dont need to worry about Bob Casey losing because if he does, then we are just absolutely fucked and his race wont really matter much." That was very very wrong.

One thing that the "just more populism" people aren't getting is that one of the supposed virtues of liberal democracy is the wisdom of the people. If you know a policy is correct (like more immigration or vaccines), you should keep advocating for it and trust that the people will come around to it.

I am genuinely in awe of Sarah McBride's courage to get elected to Congress knowing the amount of hate she will face in her position, both from GOP reps and from fascist Americans. Knowing that there are people willing to do things like this for the cause of liberalism is very inspiring.
