Two rules I follow on social media:
“It’s basic science!” - always asserted by people who failed basic science
“Explain to me like I’m 5!years old” - asserted by people without an adequate education demanding the world bow to them.

This is insanity! SC Republicans amended the current abortion law in bill to go from its 6-week abortion ban to a ban from conception. Reclassifying abortion as homicide at any stage-no exceptions. Victims under 11 could receive life instead of the death penalty. These people are fucking monsters …
South Carolina GOP wants the death penalty for women who have abortions with very few exceptions.
What about the women who die because doctors didn’t perform an abortion? Are the GOP going to be held responsible for their deaths?

Many new and renewed connections/friendships we just made in France and Switzerland. Have lived decades in a suburban NY town of great charm -- and intense/wearying loneliness as I'm not obsessed with work/family and never fit in well here. Feel 100% at home in Europe. @zanmerusteffgen.bsky.social

4th time lucky?! I signed up to mentor 1st-job journalists thru Report for America, volunteer. Still pals w the 1st, 2nd one poor fit for both, 3rd ghosted after crisis. Optimistic about the 4th. First Zoom gave her a ton of story strategies which she appreciated. I have no kids, so enjoy this opp.
