I constantly see Facebook posts on local groups with photos complaining about kids playing outside with footballs/ making noise / running around or heaven forbid 'standing around'

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Disruptive kids drove me mad at school in the 90s.There was a culture, that behaving well/ working hard saw you labelled 'a boffin' which was a terrible insult in the 1990s & left you open to ridicule.These kids got the teachers focus over hard working kids who were struggling

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I will never forget seeing a child i knew to have a difficult home life crying on the last day of term, asking the teaching assistant if she could still come in on Monday. For kids for whom school is a refuge the long holiday must be hell.
