Doing tax stuff this afternoon. I admit some of the tribulations are my fault, but the amount of verifications/authentications needed to accomplish simple tasks has caused my brain to implode. I need to eat chocolate & watch my favorite X-files episodes to recover. #frazzled

I hope you all remember to regularly check your breasts/chests/pecs for lumps. #feelitonthefirst is a thing on Instagram but any time of the month that works for you is fine. The important thing is to get to know your body and be alert to anything unusual.

In hopes this might help others who are contending w/cancer, I'm sharing the link to the 1st of a multipart interview I did w/IHADCANCER, a social support network. Also so people who aren't familiar w/the site have a chance to check it out. #cansky

Today I embarked on a multi-tasking trip in which I'm attempting to write 2 books, in different genres, at the same time. Any other #writers do this? Tips welcome. I'm trying to write 1 in mornings, the other in afternoons. Am I nuts? (Don't answer that, 😂) #writerssky #authorssky

The best thing you can do for an author is to request their book from your library. The library will usually get it for you! The author will get an immediate sale, and libraries will know there is a demand for their future books! Just google your library name plus "book request" or walk in and ask
Library purchases are purchases. They pay the press. The press counts them towards advances and royalties. And (gasp) the book is in a library!! It’s wonderful and no one should ever feel bad about getting a book through a library instead of buying it.
I got it from my local library system, which has 28 physical copies (more than half are checked out) and 4 audiobooks. The branch library is two blocks from my house so I get most of my books from there. Hope this helps because I loved the book - I'm not a historian and knew nothing of that period.

San Antonio's Central Library is my favorite. My kids call it the "red enchilada" library. It has a gorgeous 26-foot Dale Chihuly sculpture hanging in the atrium that features 917 pieces of blown glass. The building houses 580,257 volumes of the SAPL system's 2.5 million items. I could live there.
Destroy this myth. Please share if you have visited and researched in a library this past year! RT And give a shout out to your favorite library you have ever visited.

Last night I dreamed I wrote a novel about a samurai (I think), thick, tiny print, ugly brown cover. I was freaking out about marketing it. The publisher's marketing team couldn't help. I woke up so stressed! Tell me I'm not the only writer who does this! #authorsky #novelistsky #writersky

The e-format 3-book collection of the Bee County Amish series is $1.99 right now. Some of my favorite characters (like Mordecai & Phineas) live in these stories. (This would make a great Christmas gift for a sweet romance book lover!) tinyurl.com/mr4ak2kf #bookssky #readerssky

I’m psyched to be invited to join an in person book club. I’m reading 1st book novel: The Overstory by Richard Powers. Perfect for an old treehugger like me. What are you reading this weekend? (My daughter brought me this mug from her recent visit to the NYC Central Library. #booksky #readerssky

It's a gray, dreary day. Spent morning getting oil change & recall repair on my SUV. Flip side, my 2-yr-old grandson is visiting this afternoon (w/son & d-i-law). & Tim's making turkey tortilla soup. I'll take the not-so-good w/the great! Oh Happy Friday! #happysky #happyfridaysky

My fellow writers, do you ever blow off marketing chores and simply write? Work on the book of your heart? No contract, but the book you're burning to write? That's what I did today & it felt great. This is what being a writer should feel like. Shouldn't it? #writingsky #writerssky

I'm not a fan of cold weather, which is why I moved to South Texas, but I do love a good bowl of turkey tortilla soup that warms me through & through. My hubs' soup is even better as a leftover. He adds extra veggies for me. He's a keeper. What's your favorite cold weather soup? #wintersky #foodsky

Happy #caturdaysky. It's cold and rainy here in South Texas. A perfect day for reading and drinking apple-cinnamon-spice tea. I'm reading The Wind Blows in Sleeping Grass by Katie Powner. What are you reading this weekend? (Photo from the archives. Jasmine isn't cooperating today). #booksky #readsky
