While we absolutely need to be paying attention to all of the incredibly awful and concerning shit that’s going on, I think it’s important to note that good things are, in fact, happening all around us as well. News of it just doesn’t travel quite as far.

Absolutely this. These people are subjecting anyone who gets bit by these dogs to needing the rabies vaccine.
They argue that it's "their right", but they're really just abdicating the responsibility onto strangers.

Think about it. "Dems were too zealous in trying to prevent the spread of the virus" is, in US politics, a greater disadvantage, a bigger problem, than "Republican lies got hundreds of thousands of Americans killed for no reason."
