"Although I have no great patriotism for my country[,] I do feel as though I owe it to my community + to future generations to do my best to make things better. ... I want to be patient. I want to be wise. I want to be brave enough to see beyond myself, to wake up calmly, every day, to the horrors.

Elon Musk is taking a half step back from DOGE to try to save Tesla’s reputation, but it isn’t making much difference in Europe.

Sales were down 59% in France, 62% in the UK, and a whopping 81% in Sweden — where Tesla has refused to sign a collective agreement.

The state government of Karnataka offers 30% concession in workload with full pay for some areas that are typically dry and where temperatures often exceed 40°C in the summer. The first substantive policy announcement I have seen for workers exposed to extreme heat.

SpaceSail currently has about 90 satellites, but plans to rapidly scale up with 648 by the end of 2025 and 15,000 by 2030. Starlink has more than 7000.

While I like to see competition for Starlink, I still think putting so many satellites in low-earth orbit is a bad idea.
China’s SpaceSail is expanding where Elon Musk is stumbling
The Shanghai satellite company is launching deals in countries where Starlink, X or Tesla are creating friction.

There’s nothing efficient about shutting down U.S. National Parks when they collectively bring in over $55B a year yet cost over $3.5B a year to upkeep. This is the kind of stupid bullshit what you do when you deliberately want to crash the economy.

Trump and Vance showed a level of crassness and vulgarity never seen before in the White House with a foreign leader and guest. They were the worst kind of ignorant disgusting bully. They’ve turned our nation into a global embarrassment. And a global threat.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

VANCE: I think it's disrespectful to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media

Trump-Vance fracas with Zelenskyy is not about entertainment. New Delhi should pay attention because Trump's antics are dangerous, destructive and damaging; his arguments and creation of a global disorder hurts India, makes it more vulnerable, particularly wrt China.

Trump’s White House drama with Zelenskyy creates strategic nightmare for India
US President Donald Trump’s showdown with visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy undermines global norms and weakens India’s strategic position against China.
