I see a minimum of four categories:

- Think they're lucky to be at Harvard, can't rock boat.

- Goal-driven-hyperfocus leaves no room to pay attention.
- Surreptitiously filming for future bashing.

If you don't welcome in outsiders, you're fucked. If you can't make space for wannabe parents to fall in love and form households, you're fucked. If you can't help shoulder the burdens of raising a family and rearing kids into fully functioning adults, you're fucked.

I suspect one could substitute other causes/beliefs for "abundance" in that sentence it's equally true. I can think of 2-3 off the top of my head.
