They’re great (although I’m slightly biased as a volunteer)! There are a lot of unions out there now doing really excellent organizing among postdocs and research scientists in the hard sciences (UAW represents all the scientists at University of California and Harvard).

Reach out to @organizeworkers.bsky.social if you’re interested in organizing a union! UAW and other national unions can assist workers, but at the end of the day the best new unions come from the ground up.
