I wasn't aware of the strike until after I'd done Tuesday's, so my streak is still active until it marks Wednesday as incomplete.

But I don't cross picket lines.

My oldest son (working in Santa Clara County) said it was much busier than expected early on. I didn't get a chance to talk to him on his lunch break.

Sunnyvale decided they liked them enough that they closed Murphy Avenue to vehicle traffic permanently.

But, that's one small street in a very car-centric urban area.

It's fascinating how many right-wing types keep saying their lives are in danger if the Democrats win.

Idea I got from a health coach many years ago - instead of (or in addition to) journaling, take a picture of every meal. It saves trying to work out portion sizes and details like that, and gives a visual overview for things like "is there any color in your diet, or is it all brown?"

The moment I realized I disliked him was when his campaign helped push a Republican onto the general election ballot in 2018 so that Newsom would have a guaranteed win.

I'm pretty down on Adam Schiff for similar at the moment, TBH, but I'll still vote for him over Garvey.

I've seen "adjudicated rapist" used. He has been judicially declared to be a rapist but has not been convicted of such in a criminal trial.

It was never a place we went regularly, but there were a couple years in the early 2010s where my family went to Sea World and then got dinner at Chick-Fil-A afterwards. It's been fascinating to watch how the relative unacceptability of those has changed over the years.

See also: the part of the 'sports book in tribal casinos' proposition from a couple years back that also gave the tribal casinos (or anyone else) PAGA rights to enforce gambling laws in non-tribal casinos and card rooms.
