Today Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee advanced a bill to cut taxes for the rich while raising taxes for many working Americans.

Democrats fought for 17+ hours to protect Americans’ health care, lower costs, and support working people, while Republicans fought to protect the wealthy.

This isn't just tax "loop holes," it's tax fraud and tax evasion.

We need a fully staffed and functional IRS to make sure everyone pays their fair share of taxes. You shouldn't be able to hide money just because you're wealthy enough to hire these bankers.

Some say Trump likes tariffs for their own sake; some say it’s for negotiation.

Whichever theory you prefer, the sudden retreat on tariffs on consumer electronics from China gives you evidence for how it’s going.

A corrupt, authoritarian government seizes an innocent man, tortures and jails him on trumped-up charges that change during a manipulated "legal" process. The prisoner is left at the mercy of dehumanizing politicians & jailers to do with what they please.

Holy Week then. America now.

New analysis says ~2/3 of unpaid taxes come from the top 10% of households, w/ 28% coming from the top 1%.

The GOP CR would cut $20.2 billion of IRS funding for catching rich tax cheats - because the GOP is laser-focused on helping the rich cheat on their taxes.

“Slashing the IRS workforce is a handout for the rich: the top 10% of earners account for 64% of unpaid taxes in the US, and the top 1% accounts for a whopping 28%.” -Steven Rattner

“Just one example of how breaking the government can be the opposite of efficiency: Trump’s push to layoff half of the IRS workforce would cost the govt $350B over 10 years, as the revenue lost from unpaid taxes is about 9x the amount saved from layoffs.”—Steven Rattner
