GenX Poet & Writer. Proud to be the daughter of a man who could do calculus in his head, was a child during WWII, and served overseas during the Cold War. Sadly, I did not inherit his math gene & can barely count on my fingers.
Just had a great time with other writers in a discussion on how our creative writing can speak up for democracy and human rights. #creative-resisters #writing #resist

#NoKings day has begun!
Great turnout today - right now! - in Barcelona, protesting Trump’s dictator actions.
We will restore democracy.
I estimate we’ve had ~250 people here, though some more have stopped through. Barcelona has just over 7,000 residents who are from the U.S.

Take a picture of yourself at the No Kings rally.

Print it.

Put it in a frame.

Your grandchildren will speak about you for generations to come. You took a stand against fascism. You stood up for democracy.

Every time Trump escalates his attacks on our communities, the #NoKings movement grows stronger.

We, the millions of Americans who make up of this peaceful movement, are coming together on Oct. 18th to say: NO KINGS! app.sosha.ai/s/RESRtd0p

My Mom, Rose, volunteered as a "Grandfriend" at a local Head Start program. I've got a pic of her with the kids wearing crowns. Mom passed away in November. I know she'd have wanted to be at the #NoKings protest. I made one sign for her with that pic & one sign for me. Mom & I were there together .

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

We can’t hold hearings. We don’t have subpoena power. We can’t pass budgets. But we CAN filibuster, and we CAN change party leadership.
