@pscommissioner.bsky.social I just saw you on @bbcbreakfast.bsky.social talking about #marthasrule will this also include mental health hospitals? Many autistic people are dying, because they and parents/carers are being ignored by psychiatrists and staff.

Rejection sensitivity is central to ADHD, autism, and cPTSD.

Mental health services rarely understand rejection sensitivity, which is why people in all three diagnostic categories are so often told there is something wrong with their personality.

There isn’t.

On #BPD, she writes: “To quote my post-Melvin psychiatrist: ‘It’s what they call people whose lifestyles bother them.’”

Lucy sums up my concerns with #MentalHealthBill and the consequences for #learningdisabled and #autistic people

In court last week two psychiatrists gave reasons why 'these people' should not be admitted to psychiatric wards, wilfully missing the point. These changes would make it worse IMO.

If you’re doing patient involvement for a mental health service and you are only listening to people who have been able to use the service, you risk an incomplete picture. You also need to listen to those who needed the service but were excluded from it, unable to access it, or ‘gatekept’ away.
