3k words - A rich artist is put in a labor prison reserved for murderers and thieves. His inability to adjust (and deal with the circumstances around his crime) is exacerbated by a fascination with the cave paintings left behind in the tunnels.

39k words - A preventable famine breaks out in a military outpost-turned trading center. Two children confront their autonomy as members of different ethnic groups in this town. An older local hero, who has taken these kids under her wing, confronts her part in making the famine happen.

the v2 is still obviously a color study. the final piece will be much better drawn

at least all the underpaintings will be acrylic/gouache and graphite

gonna try to do at least faces and hair in oil. might make a neat result to do inorganic stuff digital and organic stuff in oil
