Yesterday I was trying to figure out if it’s worth maintaining connections with family members who have decided that their convenience matters more than their neighbor’s lives in the hopes that change might be possible. Today, no, fuck it, we’re all going into the sun.

A thought that probably nobody will see, but if you do, please read the whole thing. I’ve done some small amount of community building in the past in spaces where I felt largely comfortable/safe. In other words, I was usually surrounded by people who already agreed with me. 🍁

Pennsylvanians, this transphobic garbage hit our state senate this week--SB213: "The General Assembly finds and declares that it is the policy of the Commonwealth to recognize two sexes, male and female. The sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality." 🤮

My mother (yt, late 70s) is reading more about American history, but gets easily overwhelmed. Tonight we had a little transcription party digitizing historical records at FromThePage. I promise you, there are ways to engage people who would otherwise look away. 💗
